Thank you to our advocates
After 30 monumental years of exploration and discovery, NASA's Space Shuttle Program is scheduled to end in 2011. While Houston’s Johnson Space Center did not receive one of the four coveted space shuttles, Houston remains “Space City, USA” - home of mission control, astronaut training, mission control for the International Space Station and so much more. The commitment, dedication and sacrifices of this community will always be remembered and appreciated.
We thank each and every one of you who took the time to send letters to your elected local officials and the President. By combining your efforts with the efforts of the Texas Delegation, the City of Houston, the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, the Greater Houston Partnership, and the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, we were able to take our campaign coast to coast. Elected officials in every state of our nation received letters of support – thanks to the active advocacy of so many people.
How You Can Help
Write to Our Nation's Leaders
Due to the many people who have asked for a way to contact their elected officials to express their concerns about the placement of the shuttles, we plan to continue making the Rally Congress letter and email service available. If you are a Texas resident, please know, our Texas Delegation strongly advocated for Houston to receive the shuttle and have expressed their concerns about NASA’s decision to locate the shuttles outside of Texas.
Please note: Once you provide your name and location to ensure your letter goes to the correct government official, you will have the opportunity to customize the letter to express your opinion.
