What should My session focus on?
The Space Exploration Educators Conference features sessions that encompass all aspects of current and future space exploration. Sessions must also maintain the quality and accuracy of the sessions that have made our conference great. Sessions not focusing on current or future space exploration will not be considered.

Return to questions

What type of session should I propose?
This conference is known for providing hands-on, ready to implement sessions and sessions that increase knowledge and comfort with space content. We have found that teachers enjoy being actively involved and prefer to have hand-outs, PowerPoint presentations and videos to take back to their classrooms. Therefore, we are looking for sessions that fit this description. SEEC will offer sessions for a variety of grade levels as educators representing grades K-12 will attend. Lecture sessions will not be accepted.

What's covered for presenters at SEEC?
Space Center Houston will allow up to two presenters per session proposal to receive complimentary admission to all aspects of the conference. This admission includes attending keynotes, sessions, tours, meals, and the social activities. Only presenters listed on the initial proposal are eligible for complementary admission. You must list the lead presenter and co-presenter on the application in order to receive the two complementary presenter admissions. Presenters added after proposal submission may not be eligible for presenter "perks". This includes changing presenters and/or adding additional presenters.

What are presenters responsible for?
Space Center Houston does not cover the costs of transportation or hotel arrangements for presenters. Many of the hotels do offer discounted rates for conference attendees. Information on hotels will be available by October 13, 2008. When submitting your proposal, please take into consideration the cost of transportation and hotels. Also, all materials, including hand-outs, and technology not listed in the proposal (this includes laptops) are the responsibility of the presenters.
