On June 1, 2012 a full scale, high-fidelity replica of the space shuttle arrived by barge at NASA's dock. Space Center Houston has launched a campaign to raise the estimated $3 million required to transport the shuttle across the Gulf of Mexico and to make the necessary facility improvements to house the new exhibits, including a dedicated plaza and ramp.

At this new exhibit, the public will get much closer access than is allowed with a flown shuttle. Visitors will be able to enter the flight deck, the mid deck and the cargo bay; an up-close-and-personal experience of this remarkable spacecraft!
