Is prepayment required?
Prepayment is required at least one (1) week prior to your trip to receive the discounted rate of $9.50/ticket. Send payment one (1) week prior to the date of your visit to guarantee your rate and ensure that tickets will be pre-printed and waiting for pick up.
Do teachers and bus drivers need a ticket?
Yes, everyone needs a ticket to enter the building. You will receive one (1) free ticket for each ten (10) tickets that you purchase. You can use these tickets for your teachers and/or chaperones. Bus drivers may obtain a complimentary ticket at the Information Desk upon arrival.
How long does the “tour” take?
The Tram Tour, which takes you over to NASA, takes approximately 90 minutes to complete. Time spent inside Space Center Houston depends if your group views any giant screen films, live shows and/or takes the tram tour. Usually 3-5 hours is sufficient. However, we invite you to stay as long as you like!
Can I get scheduled into a specific film time?
All attractions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. During peak attendance times, additional films and shows will be added for your convenience. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before any show that you wish to view.
Can I make reservations for a specific tram time?
We cannot reserve a tram time for any group. Trams are on a first-come, first-served basis. Trams usually depart every 20-60 minutes and last approximately 90 minutes. Please check the schedule on the day of your visit.
Will my group have a tour guide?
If you would like to schedule a guided tour of Starship Gallery, there will be an additional charge of $3 per student with a $60/20 student minimum. To schedule a tour, please call 281-283-4755 or email reservations@spacecenter.org.
I only have 12 students, can we do an OSA?
Outer Space Academy classes have a $60/20 student minimum. If your group has less than 20 students, you will be required to pay the $60 minimum class fee in order to participate. To schedule an OSA, please call 281-283-4755 or email reservations@spacecenter.org .
What forms of payments are accepted?
Space Center Houston accepts school checks (payable to "Space Center Houston"), money orders, credit cards or cash. No personal checks or purchase orders are accepted. Pre-payment is required 1 week prior to the visit for all school groups.
Can I add additional students and chaperones once I have sent in my payment?
Yes! Additional participants may be added at any time. Please call 281-283-4755 to increase or decrease the ticket count. The additional tickets may be purchased on the day of your visit if there is not adequate time to mail the payment.
Can we purchase additional tickets on the day of our visit?
Additional tickets may be purchased at any time before your trip by calling Education at 281-283-4755. Please call educational programs if you have any questions regarding this policy.
Can we eat “sack lunches” inside Space Center Houston?
Outside food is not allowed inside the center. We do have a covered picnic park area that can be used for eating your lunches. Lunches should be stored inside of your buses until it’s time to eat.
Can I get my tickets mailed to me before the trip?
Yes! Avoid the lines! Mail your full payment to us at least four weeks before your trip along with a written request stating that the tickets be mailed and we'll send them to you!
