College Space Walk
A science experience that inspires writing
This event is offered only to Community College and University students! Want to get your students writing? Well give them some Space! This by request only event is designed to get your students writing in several formats by using their experiences at Space Center Houston.
Students will rotate through a variety of engaging activities that will challenge them to put pen to paper. Every student will walk away with three writing examples, which include:
- Narrative - your students will discover how astronauts live on the space station then develop their own narrative using the information they gained.
- Poetry - history can be inspiring. Your students will observe a reenactment of Kennedy's famous "We choose to go to the Moon" speech then write free form poetry.
- Persuasive - did we really go to the moon? You will find out then decide if you agree with our experts.
After all students have completed the stations they will all receive a chance to share their writing with their peers in our open mic coffee house. (coffee provided)
This experience will last about 3.5 hours and is $14.95 per person and includes your admission into Space Center Houston for the remainder of your day. This experience must be booked one month in advance of your date of visit.
