FAQ

How long does the second day "tour" take?
The tram tour, which takes you to Johnson Space Center, takes approximately 90 minutes to complete. Time spent inside Space Center Houston depends on whether your group views any large-screen films and/or live shows. 3-5 hours is usually sufficient, however, we invite you to stay as long as you like!

Can we eat "sack lunches" inside Space Center Houston?
Outside food is not allowed inside the center. We do have a covered picnic park area that can be used for eating your lunches. Any food you bring should be stored on your buses until it is time to eat.

Will my group have a tour guide?
On the evening of your Overnight, larger groups will be broken up into smaller groups. The smaller groups will each have an instructor to guide them through their activities that evening. The tram tour is the only part of your second day that will be guided. Touring inside the center is completely self-guided.

Can I make reservations for a specific tram time?
All Overnight groups will experience the tram tour on the second day visit at 9:00 a.m. The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes. If you would like to do all of your activities on the day of your Overnight we will not be able to book a private tram tour for your group. If you would like to experience the tram tour, you will need to take the tram tour with the public and be subject to tram lines and times.

What does the "Country Dinner" consist of?
The country dinner consist of chicken fried chicken, mash potatoes, white gravy, dinner roll, salad, dessert and a drink. Please inform Space Center Houston of any special dietary needs in advance no later than two weeks before the day of visit in order to make sure special accommodations can be made.

Do I need to make the hotel arrangements?
If we are making your hotel arrangements we book based on the amount of rooms you have requested. If you do not request arrangements to be made, then you are responsible for all arrangements.

Is the Neutral Buoyancy Lab located at Space Center Houston?
